Hi and welcome to WATFORD TILL I DIE.COM

Welcome to the world wide web's greatest unofficial Watford web-site.

Last Up-dated: Monday 13th August.

Blame ITV

After Watford's first game and defeat of the season, there is only one main blame to the bad day out, ITV.

The new sports channel are already in the bad books of Watford supporters for making them travel up at a ridiculous time for the game, and with rainfall at 5pm, soaking the pitch (and our seats), had the game taken place at 3pm, we would have played in far better conditions.

This is my opinion anyway, however the referee and Eyal Berkovic were at their best to keep the Hornets at bay. But with it being a great game for the generals, this is now 1-0 to ITV in the battle against their new and rather shoddy sports coverage and despite many fans not being able to recieve the channel, those who did believe it's a great start for ITV (shite)-Sport.

We must be optomistic

Despite all the star signings Watford have made over the summer and the strength and depth now avaliable in this side, it will not be easy going and after our first game ends in defeat, we must remain optomistic.

Teams such as Man City, our first opponents of the season and Coventry City have challenged Watford in the transfer market this season, will be the two teams to beat and could pose as the strongest challengers for promotion, should their relegations from the Premiership not effect them in the long run. Man City have signed players such as Stuart Pearce and Eyal Berkovic and Coventry, despite selling John Hartson and Craig Bellamy to Celtic and Newcastle respectively, have signed Julian Joachim and Lee Hughes.

Another thing which will make it a difficult season for the Hornets is that, with their high profile, many teams will be coming to Vicarage Road trying to play their best as they believe they are playing against one of the best teams in the League, and hopefully they are.
